Laserfiche is a premiere Document Management solution with almost 20 years in the business and more than 22,000 installations worldwide.
Laserfiche is very modular and scalable in nature, meaning that it can be customized to any organization’s need from the smallest private organization to the largest enterprise. In addition, it can be as simple or advanced as needed, with optional features such as barcode reading and zonal OCR for automatic naming and indexing of documents available.
Instant Access. In this day and age, successful business rely on fast communication, therefore quick access to data is vital. No longer is it necessary need to walk down the hall to pull a record from the filing cabinet or worry about having a misplacing documents – everything is right at your fingertips; provided you are authorized to access it.
No more lost files. Every document stored in Laserfiche can be automatically recognized by the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) process, meaning you can search for a document based on any word appearing on the page, in case the document is not where you expected it to be. No more lost or misplaced files.
Security. Another very important reason for implementing Laserfiche. With paper files, the document security is only as strong as the least-trustworthy person in the room. With Laserfiche, each user can have specific access rights to various “filing cabinets” or files. Some users can only look at documents while others can modify them.
Backup plan. Without adequate security, all it takes is one disgruntled employee with a lighter and all your records – and possibly the business – goes up in flames. Unfortunately, having a “backup” of paper files is impractical and costly; however performing a data backup on a hard disk is quick and easy.
No matter which way you look at it, Laserfiche can revolutionize and streamline the way you do business.
How does it work?
Laserfiche uses one or more servers to store and process data according to the desired level of sophistication. Users log into Laserfiche through a simple Client software installed on their PC or through the optional Web-based Client. Users will only be able to see and access documents to which the administrator allows them.
Documents may be stored in Laserfiche through a variety of ways, including importing PC files such as Microsoft Word and Excel files to scanning documents in from their Toshiba e-STUDIO MultiFunction Product.
Optional Workflow modules allow business processes to be defined, meaning less manual distribution and faster results.
Finally, document retention periods may be defined for documents on an individual or folder level so that obsolete information is not kept beyond its useful life.
What is required to run it?
The minimum requirements for a Laserfiche server are a Pentium III-700MHz processor with 128MB of RAM plus an additional MB per simultaneous user. Recommended specifications are Pentium III-1GHz or faster and 256MB of RAM with an addition 1MB per simultaneous user, or more. Laserfiche will run on Windows 2000 or XP Professional, although Server 2003 is recommended.
Client computers should be no less than Pentium II-400MHz with 64MB of RAM running Windows 2000 or better.
