e-BRIDGE Viewer is Toshiba’s Personal Document Management system included with every Toshiba e-STUDIO product. This simple utility brings order to a user’s computer by displaying a simple list of documents contained on the user’s hard disk from newest to oldest, regardless of location. Simply rolling the scroll wheel on the mouse allows the user to quickly flip through the documents with a large preview on the screen. If you happen to know part of the filename or even the type of file you are looking for, you can set the filter accordingly to shorten your search.
e-BRIDGE Viewer also provides a convenient way to manage your scanned documents. This unique software includes the capability to automatically download scanned files from your personal e-FILING box on the hard drive of your e-STUDIO product. No longer do you need to scan documents to yourself through email worrying about email filesize limitations or clogging up your mailbox!
However, one of the most powerful features of e-BRIDGE Viewer is the way it handles received faxes. You may already be forwarding received faxes to email, which is a great way to reducing costs and improve productivity – but what happens if the usual fax handler to whom the emails are sent is away? With e-STUDIO products, the machine can be programmed to store faxes into an e-FILING box, and e-BRIDGE Viewer can in turn download those faxes as soon as they are received and notify the user immediately by popup! In addition, since the faxes are temporarily stored in the e-FILING box rather than the user’s personal email, it is more accessible for a backup person to handle should the primary person be away!
How does it work?
e-BRIDGE Viewer is included on the Client CD for all current Toshiba e-STUDIO products. Simply insert the CD and choose ‘Custom’ or ‘Complete’ install and select e-BRIDGE Viewer to install on your local computer. Within the Settings menu you select in which folders you store your documents to be indexed and which e-STUDIO devices and e-FILING boxes you want to download.
Once the software is configured, e-BRIDGE Viewer will do its work when the computer is not in use, such as when the screensaver is running.
What is required to run it?
e-BRIDGE Viewer requires a minimum processor of Pentium 300MHz and 128MB of RAM running Windows 2000 SP3 or Windows XP SP1 or better. e-BRIDGE Viewer requires detection of a compatible Toshiba e-STUDIO product every 90 days to continue operation.
