What is it?
- e-BRIDGE Re-Rite is the Advanced Scanning option available for Toshiba
e-STUDIO Multi-Functional Products allowing users to create practical Word, Excel
and Searchable PDF documents at the touch of a button. e-BRIDGE Re-Rite can even
scan into Microsoft Reader eBook format so you can have your documents read aloud
while performing other tasks! With 29 different language dictionaries, 18 different
file formats to choose from and virtually no learning curve, the possibilities are
endless!
- No learning curve? It’s simple, really. In leveraging
the Template functionality of Toshiba e-BRIDGE technology, each user can have their
own set of personal “shortcuts” for scanning their paper documents into the proper
file format(s) they need. All the user needs to know is how to
press the Template button and select the action they desire, such as “Email Colour
Word Doc”. Within moments, the document will be waiting for them in their email
inbox!

How does it work?
- e-BRIDGE Re-Rite is program which installs on a single Windows computer
and provides the ability to create searchable or editable files for multiple Toshiba
e-STUDIO devices and users. ‘Templates’ are pre-programmed jobs on Toshiba MFPs
which send scanned images to Re-Rite for conversion using a high-end OmniPage OCR
engine. The template indicates to Re-Rite which file format the user has chosen
and the folder or email address to which the converted file should be sent!
- A new feature now available in e-BRIDGE Re-Rite is the ability to
select the recognition language for each template! It is now possible to have a
template button for English documents, another for French and even a third for on-the-fly
bilingual recognition performance! Re-Rite offers 29 languages from which to choose!
- Furthermore, e-BRIDGE Re-Rite now supports OCR conversion
by email. Simply attach your TIFF images to an email and send to an address
dedicated to your Re-Rite computer. Re-Rite will receive the email, convert your
image to the format you want, and return it back to you! This means you now have
OCR ability from anywhere, or perhaps configure Toshiba MFPs in
remote offices to use the same Re-Rite server, even if it is a completely separate
network!
- It should be noted there are no device or user licensing restrictions
on e-BRIDGE Re-Rite, however scan volume and computer specifications may impact
overall performance.
What is required to run it?
To run e-BRIDGE Re-Rite, at least one Toshiba e-STUDIO MFP is required for scanning
as well as a computer running Windows 2000, 2003 or XP Professional. Minimum PC
requirements are Pentium III 500MHz processor and 128MB of RAM, but Pentium IV 2.4GHz
processor and 256MB of RAM is recommended.
